Big Beginnings Small Steps Learning Academy LLC formerly known as Big Beginnings Small Steps Family Day Home was establish 9/3/2013. We started in the Orange Mound, TN area with 3 students. As we began to grow we relocated across the city to the Raleigh Bartlett area where we have maintained 3 stars and became a licensed facility.

Meet The Owner

Mrs. Shina Carter/Owner and Primary Early Childhood Educator-is a happily married mother of 8. She has over 20 years’ experience in working with children ages 6 weeks- 12years old since 2001. She has been an infant teacher, toddler teacher, preschool teacher and after school teacher and now Daycare Owner. After working 20 years in a childcare setting she chose to fulfill her purpose starting Big Beginnings Small Steps Family Day Home. Her passion for teaching reflects that of an easygoing, repetitive, and always professional.
